The Stetson School of Music Voice Area hosted Dr. Dana Varga, a member of the artistic faculty at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. She shared her expertise with our students in a masterclass and lecture on September 1st in Lee Chapel. In addition to her appointment at Longy, Dr. Varga is a sought-after soprano, voice teacher, and career coach, as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of MassOpera. In the masterclass, she worked with voice students on advanced aspects of vocal technique related to resonance, agility, and ornamentation. With her lecture, “The Many Paths to a Career in Singing,” Dr. Varga presented current and empowering advice for pursuing a career as a professional singer.
