Kaleb DuBose (BM ’19) And The Citrus High School Band Receive First Superior Rating At State Concert MPA In Citrus County’s History

Kaleb DuBose, BME 2019, was appointed as Band Director at Citrus High School in Inverness, Florida immediately following his graduation from Stetson.  The band program had 16 students when he arrived, and now the program has grown to over 50 members in the 2021-2022 school year with 65 members signed up for the Fall of 2022.

On April 23, 2022, the Citrus High School Band and Mr. DuBose made history receiving a Superior rating at State Concert Music Performance Assessment (MPA).  While the Citrus High School Band had received Superior ratings at Marching MPA and District Concert MPA in the past, this is the first time in the history of Citrus County Schools that any band has received Superior ratings at District-level Marching and Concert MPAs followed by a memorable performance at State Concert MPA that received a Superior rating.

Mr. DuBose is very proud of his students and the work that they have done to achieve this exciting outcome.
