Professor Ryan Sorenson won 1st prize in the Artist Tuba solo competition at the 2022 Southeast Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference.

Ryan Sorenson, a native Central Floridian, comes from a long line of musicians and began playing the tuba at age 12. After studying with Tom Waid at Stetson University and Jay Hunsberger at the University of South Florida, he went on to receive his master’s degree in tuba performance from Northwestern University.
