Founded in 1957, the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland is a global network of internationally recognized organizations dedicated to identifying the most promising young talents. There are 113 member competitions in 6 continents.
Jurors nominated Professor Routa Kroumovitch-Gomez to be the XLVII Competition President. Due to the pandemic, the first round of the Violin Competition was realized by submission of video by all 16 selected participants.
On August 19, 2021, Judges selected eight participants from Japan, Bulgaria, Rumania, Venezuela, Mexico, Germany, and Chile, to participate in the second round of the competition. On October 7, 2021, the judges selected three participants to advance to the final round. For the final round, three selected participants from Rumania, Chile, and Japan will perform a Concerto with orchestra, to be realized in August 2022 in Chile, South America.
