Coming out of a virtual 2020/21 season, “Hub New Music” (Michael Avitabile, Flute – Nicholas Brown, Clarinet – Alyssa Wang, Violin – Jesse Christeson, Cello) is proud to share news of their 2021/22 concert season. This season, they will premiere several new works, record their third full album, and drop new releases of pieces from their touring repertoire.
Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe, Hub New Music – a quartet of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello – is forging new pathways in 21st-century repertoire. The ensemble’s ambitious commissioning projects and “appealing programs” (New Yorker) celebrate the rich diversity of today’s classical music landscape. Its performances have been described as “gobsmacking” (Cleveland Classical), “innovative” (WBUR), and “the cutting edge of new classical music” (Taos News).
Jesse Christeson received his BM from Stetson University in DeLand, FL, where he studied cello (studio of David Bjella), voice, and philosophy.
