Jose Kevin Simerilla Romero has been named the Grand Prize Winner in the 2021 Chicago International Music Competition in the professional division.  The competition winners were chosen from over 1500 entrants from 25 countries.  Mr. Romero has also just accepted a Fest Contract with Hanover Opera beginning in the Fall of 2022.  In April of 2022 he will appear in a concert version of Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio” with the LA Harmonic conducted by maestro Gustavo Dudamel.

Jose was a student of Mary Jane Christeson.
