Stetson Student Ensembles Perform for Orlando Philharmonic Opening Weekend

Students from the Stetson University School of Music helped welcome audiences to the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Opening Weekend with two special lobby performances at Steinmetz Hall in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

On Saturday, September 19, the Stetson Woodwind Quintet performed before the Orlando Philharmonic’s Opening Night concert. The ensemble featured David Jaimes, Cole Duncan, Raisa Carillo, Rachel Kirkland, and Nicholas Lowther.

The following afternoon, September 20, the Barron String Quartet performed for audiences arriving for the Orlando Philharmonic’s Sunday performance. The quartet included Danae Tran, Phekia Joseph, Aine Mullen, and Rianne Lee.

Performing in the lobby of Steinmetz Hall gave Stetson students the opportunity to share their musicianship with members of the Central Florida community while experiencing one of the region’s leading professional performing arts environments.

The performances reflect the growing relationship between the Stetson University School of Music and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, creating opportunities for students to perform, engage with professional musicians and organizations, and represent Stetson within Central Florida’s vibrant arts community.
