Dr. Chadley Ballantyne Presents Workshop at the 54th Voice Foundation Symposium

Dr. Chadley Ballantyne was selected to present a workshop at the 54th Voice Foundation Symposium, held from May 28 to June 1 in Philadelphia. This annual international event features advanced programming by leading professionals in the voice care field, including papers, posters, workshops, and panel discussions. Attendees include surgeons, scientists, speech-language pathologists, voice teachers, performing artists, and students from around the world, who gather to discuss the latest advances in voice science, care, and training.

At the symposium, Dr. Ballantyne presented an experiential workshop titled “Pure Sound vs. Rough Sensation: Sorting the Sensations of the Sung Tone.” In this workshop, he led participants through hands-on demonstrations of his ongoing scholarship that connects vibrotactile awareness to voice pedagogy. Dr. Ballantyne first introduced this work as a contributing author for “The Evolving Singing Voice: Changes Across the Lifespan” (Brunssen, 2018).
