Donald Valencia Participates in Texas State International Piano Festival

Donald Valencia participated in the Texas State International Piano Festival, where he took part in masterclasses and private lessons with internationally recognized faculty from the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University, the Peabody Institute, and Indiana University. The festival has served as an important training ground for emerging pianists, many of whom have gone on to successful professional careers.

Donald performed Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, Op. 34, a technically demanding work characterized by rhythmic vitality and distinctive folk influences. He also performed Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in A major, Op. 101, a profound and challenging work that Beethoven himself referred to as “the difficult sonata in A major.” Donald selected this ambitious repertoire to take full advantage of the festival’s exceptional faculty and the opportunity to receive high-level artistic feedback on works of substantial technical and interpretive depth.
