Soprano Arianna Pollack Makes International Opera Debut in Germany

This summer, Arianna Pollack, a Vocal Performance major at Stetson University, immersed herself in the world of professional opera at the renowned Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (LOSW) in Germany.

LOSW is an intensive, month-long training program held in the heart of historic Weimar, designed specifically for emerging singers pursuing a career in the German and broader European opera scenes. With fewer than thirty participants per session, the Studio emphasizes individual attention, real-world preparation, and immersive performance experience.

During the program, Arianna brought Mozart’s beloved Le nozze di Figaro to life in the touching role of Barbarina, performing in LOSW’s fully staged production alongside her international peers — including some fellow Stetson musicians.

Daily routines at LOSW were rich and multifaceted: mornings began with German language instruction, followed by masterclasses, individual and group coaching, and staging rehearsals in the historic Mon Ami Theatre. Musicians also benefited from workshops focused on audition techniques, résumé building, and the rare opportunity to audition in front of German theatre agents.

Arianna Pollack is immensely grateful for this transformative experience — made possible by the support of the Stetson School of Music — and is excited to return to Stetson University as a rising junior in the 2025–2026 academic year.
