The 2025 Florida French Horn Festival took place on March 29th at the University of Central Florida.

This year’s featured artist was Michelle Baker, who served as the second horn of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra from 1990 to 2017. She is currently the Chair of the Brass Department at the Manhattan School of Music.

The festival included performances, masterclasses, and opportunities to connect with local vendors and professionals. It was a fantastic chance for attendees to network with students and professionals from across the state. The School of Music was proud to provide this valuable opportunity for students to learn and grow. Among the students who attended were Nicholas Lowther, Carlissa Gudiño, Geoffrey Barthle, and Ian Owens. Nicholas Lowther was one of only four students selected to perform in a masterclass with Michelle Baker.
