Stetson alum Cedric Leiba Jr’s projects on a Winning Streak

Cedric Leiba Jr, Stetson School of Music alum ’03, is an acclaimed actor, published poet, advocate and, along with fellow actor, director and advocate Pierre Jean Gonzalez is the co-Founder of award-winning DominiRican Productions, a media production company dedicated to creating opportunities in front of and behind the camera for Latiné professionals.

In addition, Cedric is part of Gonzalez-Leiba Jr and in association with Score 3 Partners, is a co-producer of the 13x-nominated and Tony Award winning Hell’s Kitchen. In early February, the original cast recording was awarded a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album. Gonzalez-Leiba Jr is engaged with several other forthcoming theatrical productions bringing Audience Development to their clients.

Cedric Leiba Jr is a proud Afro-Boricua artist who showcases his Afro-Latiné roots and represents the LGBTQIA+ community through his art. Most recently, Cedric received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Stetson University and the Hispanic Federation recognized Cedric with their Visibility Award to acknowledge his career accomplishments thus far.

Cedric is frequently invited to speak at conferences and is currently listed on the roster of experts for the U.S. Speaker Program at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs having been invited to lead a delegation in Havana in June 2024.

Adding to his list of theater and film credits, Cedric was the Associate Choreographer at Manhattan Class Company (MCC) Theatre’s production of Bees & Honey, and he made his prime-time episodic NBC debut in the final season of The Black List.

Cedric recently made his debut in St. Louis at The Muny in their production of West Side Story, doing double duty. He was in the lead role of Chino and was also engaged as the Dialect Coach, ensuring authenticity for the portrayal of the Puerto Rican characters.
