Dr. Chandler L. Wilson conducted the 9-Star Honor Band at the FBA Summer Conference in Orlando, FL. The 9-Star Honor Band consists of students from across Florida who have recently completed 9th grade and will be 10th graders this coming fall. The ensemble of over 100 students performed exciting and audience-pleasing works, including a composition by Dr. Wilson titled “Sunscapes,” which was commissioned by FBA for the 9-Star Honor Band in 2017. Additionally, the ensemble performed an arrangement of Lt. James Reese Europe’s “Castles in Europe” March, which Dr. Wilson arranged at the request of the U.S. Army TRADOC Band. Both selections are published works.
