Roy Liu, a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Music with an outside field in Education, participated in the University of Michigan’s Band Conducting and Pedagogy Workshop this summer. This annual event attracted aspiring band conductors from diverse backgrounds and provided an opportunity to enhance their conducting skills and pedagogical knowledge.

Roy engaged in a comprehensive program that included masterclasses with Director of Bands Jason Fetting and Assistant Director of Bands Courtney Snyder, individual coaching sessions, and performances with the university’s band. The workshop aimed to offer practical experience and insights from seasoned conductors and educators.
