Andrei Caquimbo, a first-year oboe performance major under the direction of Dr. Dione Chandler, has been accepted into the Eastern Music Festival orchestra program.
The EMF orchestra program engages individuals ages 14 to 23, showcasing two highly talented orchestras with participants worldwide. Rehearsing rigorously six times weekly, they prepare full-length ticketed concert programs throughout the summer. They also participate in chamber ensembles.
Andrei will study under oboist Randall Ellis and Karen Birch Blundell during his time there.
Some repertoire highlights include Bartók: Concerto for Orchestra, Dvořák: Symphony No. 9, Bruckner: Symphony No. 4, Mahler: Symphony No. 6, and many more.
