Dr. Dunwoody Mirvil, Assistant Professor of Trombone, along with 46 other contributors, has been involved in co-authoring a music pedagogy resource entitled “Teaching Instrumental Music: Perspectives and Pedagogies for the 21st Century,” published by Oxford University Press.
His chapter “Pedagogies for Teaching Trombone” outlines sound pedagogical methods designed to assist middle and high school music directors in equipping their students with positive habits that focus on the finer details of trombone performance.
The text also includes an online companion website which has a comprehensive compilation of video examples showcasing content from each chapter, highlighting the current methods and theories in music education.
