Stetson University hosted its 16th annual Brass Camp July 10-15th, 2023 on the DeLand, Florida campus. The event consisted of 65, rising 9th through rising college first year, brass students.  Throughout the week, students participated in daily fundamental/studio class, brass ensemble, chamber music ensembles, and studio ensembles. Nightly recitals included performances by the Stetson University Brass Quintet, Brass Camp Faculty Brass Ensemble, solo performances by the Stetson University Faculty, honors recital, and the closing concert featuring all the camp ensembles.

This was Dr. Aaron Witek’s first year as Director of the Stetson University Brass Camp. Dr. Witek states “The Stetson University Brass Camp is a unique experience for brass high school students. We are the oldest brass camp in Florida and one of a few summer camps in the country that provides an exclusively high school, brass only summer camp with students participating in large brass ensemble and chamber groups.”

The Stetson University Brass camp is open to any brass musician high schoolers. The 2024 brass camp will be held July 8-13th. For more information and to register, please visit:
